I am quite heavy handed, but I wasn't banging gears. Granny shifting actually. What parts did you use again? I looked on amazon and people usually by a second energy kit or something. This looks like a better deal than the skunk 2 one.
The issue is that the DC ones are aluminum, and Skunk2 and B&M use steel. Aluminum likes to fracture at the stress riser formed by the bottom of the knob thread, because it wasn't properly relieved at the factory.

There is a set of o rings that advance has that stack perfectly to completely stop the rattle. I jammed a bunch into mine and never had a problem
I'll hit them up once I order the shifter. Thanks for the tip

That's super insightful. I don't know if I will have an integra after this one is gone. But, i'll keep that in mind. Thanks

Sorry to thread jack, Stephen.

So work on my car has all but ceased... she ran great at Atlanta, I've got all done to it that I wanted to get done, I don't even think I have any outstanding maintenance to do to her either

She spent a lot of the past few months outside (shame on me) as I reorganized the garage and had some other space-hogging projects going on. Just moved the final project out (sold my wife's 2nd motorcycle the other day) so now the Teg is back home in the garage.

May the 21st I'll be returning to Sebring to give the track another whirl, for those not following, I went to this track last year but had to cut my weekend short because of an oil leak, a leak I thought was the result of a bad oil pump seal but in the end, and discovered by Jeffaome at the Dragon, it was the exhaust camshaft seal that had backed out. Next Saturday's event is only a one day event, but since it's Chin Motorsports, there is a TON of time shoved into one day, I think I figured out that I could be out track for a total of 3 hrs and 30 mins if I did absolutely everything!

I've never done a chin event and talking to the guy running it made it clear I don't have a lot of experience at this track, so they put me in "provisional solo", I'll have an instructor for first session and go from there (I did *not* have to front the $75 instructor fee)

is this what it is like to have a car that's "done" ?

From the time I got back from Road Atlanta (March 13th) until just now, the only time i've even started the car was to move it from garage to back yard and back... I just drove around for an hour while running some errands, car ran great, smooth (for what my car can muster of smooth anyways).

Just filled up the tank and a 5 gallon jug of 93 octane, I'm ready for the weekend!

Hoping to be able to cut out at work at lunch time on Friday. If i can get this 3 hour drive done and at the track before they open at 4p, i'd have a good chance of snagging a garage as they are given away first come first serve

i've wanted to go to one of those st augustine autocrosses, apparently from xian on itrca you get like 12 or so runs, no station work and out by 2pm.

Corvette clubs seem to put on good events that are laid back

It's been over a month since I posted on this thread, when I went to Sebring with Chin Motorsports. Terrible day on track, super frustrated with the group and the instructors, when I got home that day I was kind of sick of it. Did get to hang with friends and the car ran fine, so no complaints about anything off track.

This past weekend I decided last minute to go to Sebring again, this time with a much better group. Was out there rockin' it for two sessions and then the rain came at lunch time. Session three was out in the wet, and I ran into a serious issue with the car where it died on me coming out of turn # 17. I'll detail what I've checked so far in the next post.

I'll finish this post with some pics from Sunday

To my issue:

So there were puddles out on track during the third session on Sunday... I was out there taking it pretty easy, but after 3 laps i came out of the final turn and the car ran out of power.

I pulled over off track and got towed in, initial thought : "oh no, hydrolock".. I still haven't ruled this out. Car turns over but doesn't start.

So it wasn't until today that I started poking around:
- I pulled the spark plugs out, they looked fine
- Used my camera scope to look in cylinder areas, didn't see anything of note
- Unplugged the distributor and the injections, then went to pull the 15 amp fuse for EFI by the battery and strangely enough, it was backed almost all the way out from the socket (saw this and I hoped this was it !!)

I didn't put everything back together, i ran a compression test... consistent across the board (just under 180 psi)

Kind of hoping the fuse was the culprit, I put the plugs back in, hooked up distributor and injectors and made sure that 15 amp fuse was fully seated.

Got back in the car, turned the key, the car came to life... then died a few seconds later... and now I'm back to "turns over but doesn't start"

- *Maybe* my distributor is toast
- Maybe i did hydrolock, but i see or hear no evidence of this
- Something else?

Next step will be to diagnose the distributor i suppose, although that wouldn't explain why the car ran for a few seconds a bit ago

.

This really wouldnt explain the half out fuse and the fact that it fired up momentarily after the fuse was fully seated, but just to cross it off the list...is the fuel pump runinng?
