10 views is nothing...If I make 11 I'm likely to be the eleventh person who didn't know but wanted to and was checking to see if any answers were posted. I'm sure someone will answer soon...but if someone could have helped you they would have. Im not trying to be rude... Back on topic though...

boost spike is when boost "spikes" up further than set. For instance, you set your boost to 7 psi..but every now and again, boost goes up to 12psi...very bad. There are a number of reasons why it happens..two very common reasons is b/c the wastegate is not bleeding from all of the exhaust primaries or the wastegate is not adequate.

Boost spike and boost creep are synonymous with each other. Some people make this distinction…boost spike occurs when you are at wide open throttle and the boost jumps suddenly from where it is supposed to be (7psi for simplicity) to something crazy like 12psi…boost creep is when the boost slowly moves up from say 7-8-9-10.

In my book the end result is the same and it’s not good! So to answer the question…yep they’re the same thing.

And to get a little more complex. Boost creep also can be affected by wastegate placement. If the wastegate is placed on one primary or of center it cant properly release the absolute pressure behind the turbo, the best way to go is centrally located, as closs to the turbo as possible, as that way the wastegate is relieving pressure right in front of the turbo, not of to the side or on a tube where it doesnt vent the pressure pulses from the other cylinders properly.
