i'm sure this has been discussed before but i couldn't find it on any recent posts. I have 205/40ZR/17 Nitto 555 Extremes. In one place on the tire it says "never exceed 40psi" and on another place on the tire it says "never exceed 50psi". It almost seems like my tires are a little bit flat, but i put them all at around 37 or 38psi. I was wondering what should I put the psi at?

I would just go with what is in your owners manual I think for 98 gsr it is like 35 in front and 33 in rear.

yeah, i run mine around 32 PSI the sides squish for more surface contact

If you're not using the stock size, the stock pressure isn't what you should be using. Fill it to the point where your car rolls back a little on it's own, like when you're at the lights.

Exactly. If you are only concerned about handling (and ride quality and tire life don't matter) then check out my article on tire pressure here.

Otherwise you want the tire to ride on the full patch of tread, but not on the shoulder of the tire. Its going to be different for every tire.
