ya bleed might help. feel should be just like OEM. maybe just a lil stiffer.

 

Maybe he bled it wrong/bad...? Do it yourself, its easy and fast and never hurts to try!

 

i did an exedy clutch and light weight flywheel on my gsr a couple months ago.
when i first got in the car and pressed the clutch peddle down i thought for sure something was wrong because of how soft it was.
i double checked everything and bled the clutch. still soft. so i started it and everything was fine just really soft.
clutch felt weak for a few days then started to stiffen up.
2000 miles later it feels great.
im really unsure why it feels soft at first.

dont sweat it.
break it in properly and youll be fine.

 

has anyone else experienced the same with a exedy clutch from feeling soft in the beginning and then stiffening up later on? hey money_pit did you use a OE exedy clutch?

 

bro dont sweat it, i had my clutch installed and i could tap that ***** and it would go down so quickly. It was exteremely soft but i got used to it, Break it in it will get stiffer.

 

Same thing happened to me. Got it back from the dealer and was soft as apple pie. It stiffen back up after a week or so though. Then I put in an ACT xtreme plate with street disc and was stiff at first but soften up. It almost feels like stock now. Maybe I'm just used to it now.

 

you have to brake them in when they put new clutchs in they LUBE the shaft and it makes it easy to shift but then after it burns off and stiffens up

 

I would think that the softer pedal would be quicker to shift with?

 

This is normal.
As the clutch wears the pedal gets firmer.
New clutch will always have a soft feel.

 

yea man i love the softer clutch i dont have to strain to shift and its alot faster also.....i drive another car and i was used to that clutch but now i drive that car its extremely hard lol
