LS/VTEC, LS, or K20 with a turbo

I'm trying to figure out which way I should go on my motor. I understand that ls/vtec or the ls is an easy way to go so i don't have to swap out my motor. But I like the k20 and the range of power and build up options that it has. I'm leaning towards ls/vtec or ls because the k20 is very pricey. But if I could get some insite from my fellow teg lovers that would be appreciated.

if u have that kind of money, k20 turbo. if not, ls turbo.

im sure plenty will say ls/vtec turbo, but i honestly dont think its worth the money with a turbo

edit: reason i say not ls/vtec is cuz the money not spent on the vtec conversion can be put towards making boost safer/more reliable(and even more boost) on the LS

just be warned, a k20 turbo would be a messy custom setup with lots of fabbing and trimming. you can have a hell of alot more power if you take that money, get a bare b18c1 bottom end, build it for boost, slap a head on it and boost the hell out of it.

^^ but lets take into account price...

a quality turbo manifold for a b-series in an integra chassis is about 300...

a quality turbo manifold for a k-series in an integra chassis is about 700+... ect ect for every other piece.

I agree with danny, the k-series is just to pricey for the integra. wait a few years and that might change

if you're loaded

k20 w/ turbo or not

if you're strapped

ls turbo

if you're strapped but love v-tec

ls/v-tec w/ turbo

i had a ls/v-tec and was not happy
i also had a b20/v-tec, i was very happy

k swap is going to cost you a lot because you have to have custom header, custom exhaust piping, custom this and custom that, if you can't find a jdm ecu you'll need to get a kpro ($1500) so be careful even if you can afford a k series engine

The reason K series parts are more expensive is often due to the fact that there are fewer parts avaliable. less competition means higher prices. List the companies that make turbo manfiolds for a B series motor, then list the same for the K series. one list is going to be longer.

i say stick with the LS and boost. have a BUILT LS TURBO!!!

k swap is becoming too comon,in a few years no ones gona have b-series in there integra or civic.

and Vtak...(i no its VTEC jp) dont do it ECU,wiring , head etc... u could have priced a kit together. so my vote goes to LS TURBOOOO

I say save your hard earn money, get the k20a and call it a day. first go n/a if you have more money then boost it if u want. This discussion has been covered many times and everyone know that k20a is the latest advance technology from honda, so it must be better. B series is so cliche, pple been there and done that. so you want to be typical or have a rare monster set up that will raped other common project.

Plenty of info on all of these engines to make an educated decision.

Just saying "I have an integra, I want to go fast" isn't helping anybody. We don't know your goals, budget, powerband location, engine preference i.e. f/i or n/a. It's all guesswork and spoonfeeding.
