since we were having some tach issues at the track J went ahead and picked up a new flashy big ol' tack with a blinding shift light... because and I quote he "only needs to know when to shift, don't need no speedo"

anyway the AEM ECU is so cool, just ran 1 wire to the ecu (PINOUT Says C3), 1 ground and 1 power wire, good to go

1 and done... got 1 pass in, Lebanon dragway had tree problems...

dragged the e-brake for a few feet, by mistake, got a god awful 60 foot... but did manage my personal best of 12.8... btw let me mention I could not figure out where the end of the 1/4 mile was at that track, but I know I let off early

Update from this passed weekend.

Pass 1: J into the wall at 120MPH+
tapped the slick and dented quarter, not to bad considering he was facing the tree at the end of the quarter
Image

Pass 2: ran a little slower than the first pass, but was just getting it in just so we wouldn't go home with another dent added, timeslips of this passed weekend posted bellow

ive been trying to keep up with your build but it seems your having a lot of problems getting your car down the track. you should be in the low 11's for sure for the amount of power your putting down. what is the tire pressure and size of your slicks? i asked because you said youre having problems with traction.

biggest issue is
A. Stock trans that has over 150k miles
B. 13x10/24.5" slicks don't clear the KStuned drag brake kit, so we're running a 30mm spacer on the fronts pretty much 2lbs per side added
C. no staging brake so we've redlit a bunch of times

resolutions to the above are throw money at it, the problem will go away lol

on a serious note, we're going to build the trans, get some proper fitting slicks and skip going 11s 10s and run a 9

I say stop using that damn ebrake and worrying about preloading... I had so much trouble pre-loading properly in the beginning. Always red lighting and drag the ebrake when I didn't get it all the way down.

I understand driveline breakage concerns.... Believe me if anyone understands I do after breaking 3 DSS 3.9s and a final drive. However those problems have only arisen since switching to the twin disk clutch. I just bought a clutch flow control valve some reduce driveline shock for my setup and I am optimistic.

I guess what I am getting at is a lot of issues appear to be related to staging and launching. Give it a try without worrying about all of that just once or twice and tell me if it makes a difference. I'm willing to bet it does... Stage, get on the two step, dump the clutch and let her eat. If you break something then it is what it is man. If you ain't breaking you ain't racing and that's a fact.

build has been on hold for quite sometime... we're trying to get it rekindled. Ordered a pair of 13x8 traklites so we no longer need to run the 5lbs spacers with the spinworks

next we need to install extended studs on the rear wheels so tech doesn't keep nagging on us for missing 1 wheel stud
