car bogs and stalls at low rpm take off

I have a 99 integra LS it's got about 155,000KMs on it now and ive had it since 120,000. no problems untill recently.

now and ive done a couple things to it including a new dist cap+rotor and external coil, iridium plugs and wires only about 1 year old, new fuel filter, new timingbelt+waterpump and adjustable cam gears.

the cam gears are slightly adjsuted but the car was running fine untill the winter hit. weve been getting -20 degree weather and all of a sudden my cars been acting up.

I first noticed it was starting to bog under low rpm take offf (like 1000 rpm) it would stumble and then pick back up when I let off a gave it some more throttle.

but more recently it's been having trouble even getting started after its been turned on and running then left to sit for a bit and I go to start it again and it just constantly cranks and wont start, ill have to give it throttle in order for it to start and even then it doesnt really wanna run.

ive talked to several mechanics at my shop and theyre convinced its a fuel issue since when it is running if I blip the throttle at idle itll bog and sometimes stall.

it seems to only happen at lower RPM if I keep it above 1000rpm its fine but as soon as Im sitting at a traffic light and go to bring the rpms up if im not extremely slow and gradual with the throttle it wants to stall. but as soon as I keep the revs up it runs fine.

I considered possibly bad gas but its been having these symptoms for a while now and jsut recently its gotten to the point I cant really safely drive my car. IM assuming its getting some fuel since it does run and the spark should be good ive checked all my connections and everythings tight and clean.

im hoping that somebody will a little more experience with the B18 has possibly seen this issue or can tell me the possible cause so I can fix it but right now I have no shop to bring it to so I cant really check the live data on a scanner and the things not throwing me any codes so thats no help either.

well there was a nice day for the first time in weeks here it actualy went above the freezing mark and I was able to get under the hood.

I did an oil change and topped up on some 91 octane bout 15$ worth and tried some fuel stabilizer and it seems to have helped.

no more bog and it starts right up. I would hope that it wasn't bad gas but at this popint in time all the signs are pointing in that direction....

ya theyre NGK iridiums a little bit more money but theyre holding up nicely. it was one of the first things I bought for it when I got the car but I'll have to keep that in mind next time I need new plugs.

i had problems with the NGK Iridium Plugs too. Just replaced one today, it quit working and it was only about 3 months old. It was hard to diagnose because it looked perfectly fine. I decided just to try replacing the plug and i saw instant results as soon as the new one was in. Wouldn't ever buy them again. Cost me about 200$ extra in the gas mileage i was losing due to my car running on only 3 cylinders.

Your mass air flow sensor may be bad. It sounds a lot like what my 2001 pathfinder did. Then we replaced the MAFS and it MOBETTER now.
ya I believe the B series of engines from Honda actualy use a speed density system running off a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor and TPS its possible the MAP is acting up but I doubt it.

and thnx for the reply guys once the spring hits I definately got some things to look into cleaning up on my teg.

Uh oh........ I found somthing while I was snoopin around my ignition today.

it looks as though my MSD pro cap has either malfunctioned or is at the end of it's lifespan.

While taking a closer look at my cap and rotor it would seem that the center terminal in the cap that contacts the rotor has ceized or somthing and has just completely ground itself down.

any ideas wtf happened?
