Hey everyone, I have a 94 integra LS stock, its boosted 10 psi with a T3/T04E 60 trim, 63 AR.

Anyway, its tuned with crome, and asked my tuner if he touched the timing, and he said he didnt because we were just doing it on the street, and he would change the timing if we were on the dyno.

Problem is the car just doesnt seem quick, and I think the timing is retarded to hell.

compression was good, leakdown was good.

Does the article on changing timing with the distributor apply to me eventhough im boosted, and on crome? would the computer know what to do with it, eventhough its tuned the way it is right now. Would timing change WOT AFR's?

OK. You need to know what the "tuner" set the timing in the boost tables to. For example, if he just initialized them to like 1.5* per pound of boost, then yes...it will be retarded everywhere.

Second, what are the AFRs? Timing can change AFRs...but it really is dependant on what you are starting with...in most cases it has little effect on them.

The distributer sets the base timing, so if that is changed, then it changes the timing everywhere. If it feels "slow" to the butt dyno, then take it to a real dyno.

thats a good point, so il tell him to send me my crome map and take a loot at it.

But there arent actual timing values in crome?

Just settings like 1.5X retard per point in boost?

So to figure out what my timing is at, say at 7000 rpm, I would go into crome and see what the value is, lets say 6X retard at 7kRPM with 10 PSI, and I would find the base timing with a timing light at idle, lets say 18*.
So my timing would be 3* at 7k with 10psi?

But anyway, if an advance in timing is what I need, it wont mess with the tune then?

Honestly, if you are asking those questions, you should not be messing with anything related to tuning. You are risking serious engine damage. As Mike said, you need to take your car to a trusted tuner and get some dyno time.
