144.6 with two 12" kenwood waves and a profile 400M amp i know it sounds cheap but me and my buddy built the box my $200 system hits almost as hard as his $2500 1000 watt rockford fosgate system. In my opinion its all in the design of the box and choice of head unit. I didn't think it would hit that well but it did.

lol if it's actually 3200 watts then plan on getting bigger wire

Are these from those dB drag events? And if so, how did they measure it...because, no offense to anyone here, but I doubt it's truly that high.

It takes a lot of power to truly produce that kind of SPL. And are these dBA-weighted? And also note, there's no such thing as a decibel without a reference, I'll assume it's pascals here.

I have 2 12" Fosgate XLC's(4 or 5 years old) each in a 1.5 ft sealed box. Sony explode 900watt amp w/10dbs of bass boost baby (each is getting about 350. Kenwood 715s head unit. 138dbs... ACTUAL thank you very much!! Loud enough to get the girls attention on the strip...ha ha!!

very good point cheezthis.....150 db's is enough to make your ears bleed, anything above 165-170 and your head would pop, not kidding. if you could truley hit 150 with 2 sony 12's for example, why then would those big dog competitors only be hitting 170-180 on 30 12's and 60 amps with 15+ batteries....but i guess yall can have your fun.

I hit 149 with a rockford power hx2 in a ported box designed for db, I was running 1200+ w rms to the sub, that was at a db drag, with the sub about 6" from the back of the trunk facing back, with a db meter this was the loudest spot to put the box the mic was in front of the air vents on the dash I blew my eardrum, sold the sub and he amp now I have a 8"L7 for bottom end fill thats it.

Well, I hit 147.6 with 2 JL Audio 12w6's on a RF 800.2 (which is for sale

).

Iamworking on my current install right now which is 2 JL Audio 12w6v2's and a JL Audio 1000/1. Hoping for some good numbers.

The first competition I went to was right after I was done with the install and I just wanted to see how loud it was (cause back then I just wanted major bass) and I won that competition for my category.

Now, with the new subs, I do not want to lose the good bass, but I want good sound quality too, so I am going for a sealed box again.

I will probably take it out to another competitionto get a reading, but just out of curiosity.

"Because the decibel scale is logarithmic, with every 10 dB increase equivalent to a doubling of perceived sound (otherwise known as noise), dB drag racing enthusiasts create some seriously loud tones. (Another rule of thumb: All else being equal, every three dB of increased sound from a typical dB drag racing system requires a doubling of amplifier power."

exactly. the higher you go the harder it gets. the earths atmosphere ristricts it at like 184 they calculated. If you are under water then you can get up to around 200dB. I forget the exact #'s

I have hit in my integra 155.5 on the floor and 149.9 with 4 15's and 1000 watts.
148.6 on the dash with 1 L7 12 with 2000 watts
148.0 on the dash with 1 L7 12 with 1000 watts
all using an audio control mic.
