Hi There,

Posting because i need advice on replacing/fiberglass or welding the boot. Ive attached some pictures of my very clean ;) Integra. This Integra's been in our family since mechanical birth and I love it!

But its a GS-I model (posting in from down under) and had the low style spoiler, and like many others I am looking for the best solution for fixing the left over spoiler holes!

I'm a bit conflicted with what to go with and to say the least I've had a bunch of ridiculous quotes $1000AUS+. But have been informed of three main options

-bogging
-under standing that bog is not really a perm solution and can fall out
-doesn't look as neat
-welding
-can make the boot buckle
-will remove the factory boot seals?
-fiberglass?
-was told this by a pretty nice paint and panel guy also was the best quote at around $450 and wasn't a total moron.

I know there is duplicates among duplicates but maybe this can be a solve-all resolve-all kinda thread.

Let me also give some more info,

I removed the spoiler maybe around 9months ago, and put rubber grommets in the holes as a temporary (eep.) solution, basically the grommets turned to crap (weather damage) and fell out from road bumps (but i still replaced them to prevent water getting into boot and other scary places.

Ive included some pictures of my teggy (which also shows the surface rust where the wiring harness and wiring for the reversing light was). This rust was there before even removing! maybe something worth checking in similar models?

Welding it will be your best choice if cost if not the issue, but you most likely can't DIY this one unless you know how to weld... and if you do know how to weld, i bet you won't be posting it here anyway. :)

You could also try to JB weld it.

The other alternative would be grind all the rust out, then fibreglass the bottom and then bondo the top... but it will be a little time consuming if you are going to DIY.
