Hello, and thank you for looking into my thread! enough small talk im just gonna dive into this. 1999 acura integra, automatic. Ac went out about a year ago(2 weeks after i bought the car.) so with that being said, im right at 110k miles, and when i idle for about 3-5 mins, the car starts to over heat. looking under the hood ive noticed the fans arent kicking on, Unless im running my ac. which works, just doesnt have coolant because of a leak.
Now, here is where it gets tricky.
i've read through some forums and gathered that it could be the relay, or it could be the thermometer. So i have changed them, just got done doing the thermometer about an hour ago.
Still no fix :-(.
So this leaves me where ladies and gentlemen?

well...stop driving it until you fix the problem. honda engines do not like to overheat, which is why so many blow headgaskets.

if your fan isnt kicking in, then its a fan related problem(as long as your coolant temp sensor is working properly) or thermostat
are you using oem thermostat? so many aftermarket thermostats open way too late.

did you bleed the system?
1) put temp dial to HOT
2) take off radiator cap and top off with coolant or distilled water and fill reservoir to max line
3) run the engine at 2500 rpms and wait for the fans to kick TWICE and you're done bleeding. you can help bleed air by squeezing the top radiator hose to eliminate more air and by jacking up the front of your car so the radiator is higher than the engine. if your fans do not kick in, and temperature is beginning to pass the midline, then you can have issues, given you have a function coolant temp sensor and thermostat.
