Hello All,

Like the title says I am a new member to the forums. I currently live in Chatan, Japan which is on the island of Okinawa. I am a long time Honda enthusiast, being the owner of many many Hondas to this date. I have a 1998 Honda Integra SiR-G, which is the equivalent to a USDM GSR. It has the B18C motor inside :vtec228: It was really hard finding a nice 5sp Honda on this Island that wasn't already molested or a rust bucket and I refuse to drive an automatic, never owned one and never will. So I bought mine from Mainland Japan and had it shipped to me here :) It has 100,000 kilometers on it (about 62,000 miles) and it is VERY clean. Only problems are one small golf ball sized dent on the drivers side fender and the material on the steering wheel is deteriorating. The car is all bone stock, just the way I wanted it so that I can revert back to stock whenever I have to renew the very intensive inspections that they have over here for vehicles. I have some plans for the car as of now and will keep everyone updated with what is going on :) Thank you all for your interest in my car. If anyone has a good knowledge of JDM Integras and could give me advice as to maybe what USDM parts will fit on my car I would greatly appreciate it. Performance parts in Japan are not cheap :/ Again, thank you all XD

Welcome to Team-Integra, Chris! You have a very pretty car there, especially that interior; it looks absolutely spotless! I have that same motor in my car, except I didn't get the transmission with it, which has an LSD if I remember correctly. I had to do a double take when I saw the battery and brake components swapped sides, lol. Always the little differences.

Again, welcome to the site! You should find plenty of information here for anything you want to do. It's always been my belief that since that people buy parts off of JDM Integra's all the time for their USDM ones, they can probably all take the same performance parts. I could be wrong though, so perhaps a little more research.

Welcome SiR... The gsr looks great, & very clean.
I cant imagine how many of these were damaged by the Tsunami...
TI world here is great filled with lots of good info & good people.
If you've have owned many many Honda's, you'll have the idea for this one too.

So clean...wow

How intensive are the inspections? I see so many heavily modded cars in Japan on youtube so I guess its never really been brought to my mind.

Edit: wiki is my friend
I thought this was interesting...

"As vehicles get older, maintaining them to the required standards can become expensive. Most Japanese do not get involved in mechanical repairs, and as a result, mechanics can charge high prices.[ ] Vehicles which cannot pass inspection are not permitted on public roads. Unwanted vehicles must be exported or destroyed and recycled. Many Japanese used vehicles are exported once it is no longer cost-effective to keep them in service in Japan."

It's different at first, but it becomes second nature after a good hour total of driving. It actually feels much more natural shifting with the left hand. The hardest part of getting used to it is remembering that the turn signals and windshield wipers are reversed on the column. It's pretty funny when you go to make a left hand turn and your windshield wipers come on instead of your turn signal
