the last owner of my car put a shark fin antenna on the top of the car behind the moon roof...with 3m double sided sticky tape. If I wasn't worried about residue or ripping off paint it would come right off, but it's not that noticable, so until I'm ready to paint it (or maybe just until I get my clay bar) it's going to have to stay.

 

i went and got a volkswagon one and put it where my rear sprayer was since i dont use it you have to drill the hole out bigger but that wasn't a problem then went and got the stock vw plug that goes from the antenna to a normal plug for any aftermarket radio from my work and the vw antenna has a nut for the antenna to screw into to hold it into place w/o tape

 

I'm going to bring this topic back. I'm kind of interested in what this looks like on a Gen 3. Any pictures?
