I just acquired around $4000. I am looking to make my 2001 GSR as show worthy as possible, because it is still too new to mod the engine. Any help from all of you to make the $4000 stretch as far as it can is appreciated. I am looking for new 18" rims/tires, and a carbon fiber hood. Also should I keep the white rims with a CF hood? or should I change to gunmetal? Here is a link to show you what I have already and what my car looks like:

I want my car to be the one at the show that people remember, and talk about. I know $4000 isn't enough to accomplish everything, but what are some of your ideas??

Thanks for your help!!

Why is your car too new to mod the engine? Don't you pop your engines at car shows? I would think that under there is where I would concentrate on.

Other than that, do your ideas and lower it, and keep it as shiny as possible...

If you want a show car to stand out don't get a CF hood. They are a dime a dozen now.

If you want show, get a Eurohood. Check them out HERE (they got all different colors).

Sample

Red teg, I would stick with white rims, stand out more. Nice power folding mirrors with LED turn signals. Dual exhaust systems always look nice. Definately need a kit for show. Silvia/CL/Skyline front conversion looks the best. Skyline tail lights with a wide body kit look sick on a teg.

Dude don't get the clear hood, that is ricey as hell
Lets not start w/ whats "ricey" and whats not. please.......

Moved this to the appearance forum as she (I'm assuming the author it a female) is primarily concerned w/ looks. If you have performance mods question, feel free to post a separate question in the performance area.

As for getting good prices, Ebay would always be your best bet. As for the clear hood, i think they are more common with cars that have heavily modded engines or atleast engines that are really dressed up and having something to show. The clear hood would be a little weird when their is a stock engine under it.

daaaaaaaaamn your car is shiny. mmmmmm. Me likey.

I'd say go with some darker rims, either black poweder coat or gunmetal especially if you get a cf hood.

one other simple thing you could do is paint the factory side skirts and get your door mouldings shaved. It always looks real clean and nice type r style.

You could also try acquiring some JDM type r seats. The red suade Recaro's. Those would look real nice with your car being red and people know you have taste when you have those seats. theGSRguy has the right idea. JDM is always the best way to go... its very clean and good looking and most people love it.

Which WW kit would look good on my car? I don't want the front to look so huge. I want something tasteful, yet impressive. Thanks for all your help. Also I do want 18" gunmetal rims, which ones would look good on my car? I really want the Volk LE-37T, but they are expensive, any other ideas of nice quality light rims?
