I noticed that when I press the clutch all the way down, the car won't start (the engine won't turn over). I have to release the clutch a little bit, and then it starts fine. What could that problem be? Some position sensor or something?

Well one thing is for sure..itll get worse before it gets better...if you cant find the problem you could always keep driving it until it gives you more clues...mine is an automatic but if these cars have a clutch safety switch that could be going out...sorry I cant help more.

your stopper thingies are at the right age to fall apart:

the upper one is a bit of a b*tch, pull the driver's seat grab a work light and stick that thing on the end of a screwdriver with some tape and crawl under the dash. more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

there's one on the brake pedal too.

Those stopper thingies are a pain in the ass. Mine fell apart. I paper clipped the switch. I feel kind of bad for rigging it but can’t get my hands up in there. Same thing happened to my brake switch. I stuck a plastic push clip in and that fixed it.

I fixed it by doing just this. I pulled my driver's seat to give me more room, got underneath the dash, and bypassed the switch by sticking a paperclip to close the circuit. Such a pain in the ass to get up there. My hands aren't terribly big, and I still had a hard time accessing it.
