A friend of mine has offered to let me buy a 2001 Integra Type R with 14,000miles on it for $24,500. The car is in mint condition and sounds like a steal to me. I'd like to get the power output to about 220HP at the crank. What modifications would be good choices to achieve this? My budget is large (over 5K) so let me have it. I was thinking of Intake, Header, High Flow Cat, Exhaust and then a VAFC with some good tuning. Also, can you add a cruise control system to this car? Thanks!

But then again, thats an additional 5K and insurance would be up the waa zoo!! I got my R for 22,900 , but hey, its a bit pricey but its worth it. Not only Type Rs are rare, but to get a good deal on one of them is tough. Dude, try lookin the blue book value for it, exactly, there isn't even one for it. It's a novelty. Here's his chance to get a R, y not ?? I saw the chance and I took it, no regrets.

JRSC all the way, and the vortech's make nice numbers, but we all have read the SCC article that shows the numbers don't match the performance. but really, 220 at the crank isn't much more than stock, so some aggressive cams and things should be able to do that for you.

Vortech? Man, haven't you seen the numerous posts on those things? A stock R runs the same times as a vortech supercharged GSR. Does that seem right?

ANYWAYS, get the R man, why not? Especially if you have the extra dough.

"if your budget is over 5k then why dont you just supercharge or turbo?"

Maybe because he knows the TypeR screams N/A.

funk that NA crap....but with 5 grand it will be hard to get it boosted...you have to remember that you need an exhaust fuel system and tuning to get a car to run boosted......220crank hp you can do easily with bolt ons....here's what you should do...save up about 8 grand to put into it total, boost it with the drag kit or JRSC with 8psi and a good fuel system, then tune it....that will give you about 220whp not crank....as for price. I got my 98 ITR in 00 for 18 grand us money with 18K miles on it...you can find deals just look and be willing to travel
