Ive been researching the stuff to get for my 98 gsr for its tune up it has under 75k miles on it. I was considering piecing together parts but came across this kit on ebay. It includes:
timing belt (14400-P72-014)
timing belt tensioner (14510-P30-003)
water pump (19200-P72-013)
cam seals (2, 91213-PR3-004)
cam end seal (12513-P72-003)
crank seal (91212-PR3-003)
cylinder head cover gasket (12341-PR3-000)
spark plug tube seals (4, 12342-PT2-000)
cylinder head cover washers (8, 90442-P30-000)
distributor cap (30102-P72-006)
rotor ( 30103-P73-003
spark plugs (98079-56A7H)
ignition wire set (32722-P72-003)
air filter (17220-P72-000)
oil filter (15400-PLM-A02)
drain plug washer (94109-14000)
power steering belt (56992-P72-004)
alternator belt (31110-P72-004)
air conditioning belt (31110-PV0-004)

All for 434 dollars do you think I should do it all oem or still piece together my own.I have a guy close by that will be helping me do all the work so I just need the parts. Thanks in advance oh and I hope I posted this in the right forum.

That's pretty sweet they piece together a whole kit. I know that the dealer charges about $800 for a timing belt change service, with the bulk of that being labor. The only "parts" in that service are the belt itself and the water pump.

Not exactly the same service though, but it is close.

no dont forget they will tend to change the spark plug gaskets and head gasket as well. they may also change theac an ps belt too. not to mention they have to add coolant and ps fluid when they are done. Also the tb tensioner spring gets changed too.

I think the place selling it is some sort of acura dealer. They have lots of oem stuff. They also had a belt kit as well like shore is talking about maybe ill pick that up too. So you would recommend getting it and doing it all OEM instead of aftermarket stuff? Thanks again for quick replies.

I would replace the stock cam seal with an aluminum one w/ 3 o-rings, drop the stock air filter and replace with a k&n drop in filter, and i don't think the accesory belts are have to be OEM.

inlineFour. They can probably piece a kit together for you too.

www.oemacuraparts.com has all of those parts for 431.89 shipped. Not much of a difference, but like it has been mentioned, you should replace the cam seal with a billet aluminum cam seal to prevent oil leakage. Also (cylinder head cover washers (8, 90442-P30-000) isn't something that is very necessary. I think they might be polished, but that would be the only benefit unless yours are missing or damaged. The belts don't have to be OEM but through my experience with auto parts stores, they charge a bit more then the wholesale pricing that the aforementioned site charges.

Why replace it with a metal one? Just get one with the multiple rubber gaskets and you'll be fine.

In a way, you are right Dan athough the seal doesn't have gaskets. The factory one costs $5 whereas the $25 aftermarket seal is obviously more. I purchased one from Password:JDM and the two O-rings on the cam seal were a lot beefier then the factory seal. A bit of Honda Bond and I have had zero leaks after 50K+ miles.

So back on topic...gsruizvtec, you came onto this site for insight, experience, and opinion. You have gotten it, now the choice is up to you. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Man, that's no tune up...that's an overhaul! Good price though, can't beat genuine Honda parts.
