Not sure if anyone out there is a mechanic or knows a lot about our car. I am having trouble shifting while driving. I took my car into Acura and they said it's not my clutch but it's my shift linkage, it has to be greased up again. They said it's not my clutch because when you press the gas it's catching, it's not slipping. I then took it to my mechanic and he said that it's either my clutch or tranny. He said it's not the linkage because when the car is off it shifts fine. Can anyone help. Please e-mail [email protected] because I don't check here that often. Thank you .

when does ur car have problems shifting..

if u have problems shifting after hard/fast acceleration(trying to "chirp tire" speed..) if it grinds when u try to shift quickly at high rpms it might be a motor mount.. if one was broken ur engine would tilt around making it grind trying to get into gear.. hm.. its a possibility..

i'm having a similar problem. pull up on your shifter... if it moves up more than like 2mm (i'm talkin like an inch or two) the dust boot on the shifter ball might be torn. i just replace mine and now it shift smooth as a butter churn. the new part is like $15 from an acura dealer. also if you have a short shifter, i highly recommend installing the urethane bushings. good luck and let me know if that helped!
