ok this teg that im looking into now has a problem. when the car jus starts up and you start driving it. it goes into gears fine. but then after a little bit of driving when you push the clutch in it doesnt go into gear anymore. i have no clue what this problem is. is the the tranny or clutch or could it be something else. o yea. all the fluids are at the right level. and this is also on a 94 ls if that matters. thanks in advance everyone

if you can get it in gear when the car is not running then that means your clutch is working and the problem may be related to a mismatch of shaft speeds when the car is running....this points more to a synchro problem in the tranny.

what happens when you get into gear while driving though?

watch the tach and speedometer needles.

do they rise at the same rate? if the speedometer needle lags behind the rpm needle, the clutch is slipping and you need to replace it.

if the shifter pops out of the shift gate once you put it in while driving or if you cannot put the gear into the shiftgate while driving, this means the driveshaft speed of rotation and the crankshaft speed of rotation aren't matched by the synchro in the tranny and you need to replace the synchro.

the third scenario is if the clutch is not engaging altogether due to a failed master cylinder or the pedal connection to the master cylinder has become loose and the clutch is not engaging.
