My 92 teg is idling and not moving. I then turn steering wheel left and right and I notice that whenever I turn my steering wheel, my idle drops from 750 rpm to 500 rpm. once I finish turning the steering wheel, the rpm goes back up to 750 rpm.Anyone know what's causing this? Is this normal?

normal, you are using the power steering pump to produce fluid pressure and move the steering rack. This takes energy and the car's motor provides it. So when its put under load, the rpm's drop.

It's not normal. There is a pressure switch in line with the PS high pressure line. When it senses higher pressure that normal(like when you turn the wheel) it sends this signal to the ecu and the idle gets bumped up.

check your power steering fluid level. If it gets low there isn't a pressure bump for the pressure switch to sense.

Florduhdude is actually right. Your idle should increase, not decrease.

*edit* at least on G3's that's the case, I don't know if G2's have that pressure switch or not.

just add some power steering fluid. mine used to do that same thing and just adding fluid fixed the problem.

It's not a very good idea to turn the wheel while sitting still unless you have to. It puts a lot of strain on certain suspension and steering components. It's better if you just creep forward slightly.
