im gonna replace my head gasket on my gsr and im debating wether to get the mugen head gasket or spoon ive read that the spoon is thinner than mugen so it raises your compresion slighty more than mugen but just wanted to see opinios from you guys and especially of people that own one

My question stands: why are you replacing it with an aftermarket one? Do you need to raise your compression?

Sure, Why not raise the compression .4:1 points. Get a little more power out of it.

The Spoon and Mugen gaskets are the same.


TheGSRGuy, is there a reason not to use the thinner gasket?

A simple search of mugen or spoon head gasket will get you places.

Should you use it? Well, I don't know because I know nothing about your car, your planned setup, etc. However, you can figure it out for yourself by searching. Pretty simple really...
