OK I was just wondering what kind of speakers come on our tegs. Do they really have a name brand??? Because I bought mine used and they have Infinity speakers on them. I know those come stock on Mitsubishis but didnt know about ours. Also the rear ones cut in and out. Anyone have any suggestions where to check to fix this, I hope its just wiring, but where do they run???

Depends what year...

I know the 94-97? came w/CHEAP (emphasis on cheap) Pioneer speakers and deck...

98-01 CHEAP Alpine......

Neither of the above are even close to the each brand's regular aftermarket products. The stock speakers suck, in all honesty.

If they're cutting out, just follow the wire until you find something weird. I'd check the deck and speaker ends first.

you should have picked up on the fact they are not stock right away by looking at the wires... there has to be a "splice" right there somewhere since only the cheezy stock speakers have a special plug

Well I havent pulled it all apart yet to even notice where the "splice" is. I've only looked through the metal grate and seen thw white writing that said Infinity. And pulled the grill off the back speaker so see if it was blown, and thats why it was cutting out.

you can get plugs so you don't have to splice into the stock wireing.but another question how are you able to tell that alpine or infinity made the speakers. mine wheren't marked anyplace.

sorry unless you are counting the plug adapters as splices

If I were you I would pull it apart and get rid of all the guess work. Get a good view of what is going on and then get back to us. I have a feeling that once you take it apart you'll be able to see everything wrong with your speakers.
