So, a stock LS rates 0.78g on the skidpad... but what does that mean? Is that how much G force it can handle before it looses control or what? How are the skidpad tests performed?

Also, I've seen slalom results measured in MPH. Is that the speed coming out of it, or is it just time over distance, and measured by a stopwatch? How many cones do they use in a 100ft slalom? How far from the 1st cone does the car start?

Usually magazines test the G's on a 200 foot diameter circle: basically, a pro will drive the car arond the circle as fast as it'll go before it breaks loose of the circle, at which time they measure the G's.
