I recently bought a 94 Integra, and it had a short shifter... or so i thought... till i was driving down the street and the shift knob popped off only to find the guy just plain cut the stock shifter off... So i went to this shop and the guy said he'd sell me a short shifter for like $60 (dont remember brand) and charge me $65 to install... So i was wondering if it's a tough feat. for me to install it myself... I'm kinda of new to the whole do it yourself deal. Any help would be appreciated

thanx

It's not that hard to install a short shifter. It's all up to you if you have that time and patience with it. Expect to take about an hour or even two to the job. What you're gonna need to do is jack up the car, make sure you have your rachet tool set handy. You will be removing your heat shield, easier in my opinion to work with, disconnect the shift linkage, and loosen the bolts, lubricate the rubber ring, its self-explanatory about doing the job. My honest opinion, i'd stick with a stock shifter.
