Are you pulling the head or are you doing the air compressor trick?

I did it the air compressor method. It's kind of a pain in the butt. You'd need the threaded insert from a compression tester for this method.

Guess you could do the "rope in the cylinder" method too.

Do you have the lash tool for VTEC engines?

I don't have the lash tool

and I'll be keeping the head on the car and doing the "rope trick" which seems like it'll work great..

trying to get this done within a few weeks :-(

Added to list:
- new valve cover gasket
- new cam seal caps

- Valve seal kit = ordered
- Timing belt and water pump kit = ordered (includes cam seals and stuff)
- Timing belt adjustment spring = ordered from local dealer ($5)

Waiting to hear from another member over the valve tool, hope I don't have to buy it, but we'll see

Went with the H22 LMA Springs with a washer here. Kept the price down to an affordable level.

are you running around without a flywheel inspection cover?

they are a pain in the ass, i want a word with the engineer.
i took a bench grinder to mine and resized it, now it pops right off as god intended
as only the bottom two bolt holes are remaining lol.

the $50 snap-on valve lash tool has now been knocked off by alltrade:

Alltrade 648827 10mm 7 1 2 inch Jam Nut Valve Adjustment Tool Free Shipping | eBay

$14 at amazon if you buy $21 of other stuff.

good to hear that pan gasket is hanging in there, 3rd time will be a charm lol.
all those others are flimsy squishy messes, wtf were the thinking/smoking?

That happened about 10 years ago. I used one on my Civic. Best $15 I ever spent on a tool I think.

Don't think it's anything special

The tool being talked about is to replace the valve seals without pulling the head
