i've just about decided on what i'm going to get to upgrade the speakers in my doors. a rockford fosgate punch 200s amp and a pair of pioneer component speakers. the amp is rated at 200W max, 50W rms/channel, and the speakers are rated at 50W nominal and 150W max. do i have this matched up properly or will i need speakers with a higher peak rating? all suggestions welcome.

also, i know the speaker max power rating is for both drivers combined, but is the rms rating per driver or both combined? i'm assuming it's per driver.

Looks like it is matched up pretty well, the rating should be for each speaker. It is usually better to have an amp with more than enough power. You would rather overpower the speakers with good clean power, than have an amp with not enough power. An amp with not enough power would 'struggle' to power the speakers. Having not enough power and the amp clipping is a great way to blow speakers.
