I have a front strut bar (oem for gs-rs) and a rear upper strut bar in my trunk.

Is it worth it to get a rear lower strut bar? I really don't want to spend money on an anti-sway bar kit, but if you guys notice a difference on the strut bar I might consider getting that.

Also any issue with scraping on speed bumps?

I believe you mean lower rear tie-down.. any thing you feel will more than likely be psychological.. it just stiffens the subframe some.. and as we know it, the subframe is pretty stiff as is.. scrapeage should be none..

if you are looking for a suspension upgrade, sway bars (anti-roll bars) are always good to modify

cant tell you the specifics of each because i installed mine at the same time(comptech sway/tie bar). i can tell you that the combo deal made one hell of a difference. if i had to choose b/w the two, i'd go for the sway bar. you can pick up a used ITR rear sway bar for like $100 i believe.

it sounds like you're not sure what you're getting yourself into with these bars. what do you want to do with your car that you feel you need a tie/sway bar?

I didn't know that article existed. Thanks for the links.

Well I didn't want to spend much money to upgrade my suspension, so I thought I should get the lower rear tie down. I heard the sway bars makes a great difference, but I was just afraid of the price.

Reading the article, it seems it wouldn't make too much of a difference with that bar because I already have the rear strut tower bar in place.

read up on the effects of the bars first(more than the article), then make up your mind. if anything, i'd say ITR sway bar w/ BSQ or beaks kit. if you dont understand what i'm talking about. use the search function please.

yes, out of the 2 strut tower bars.. it is often regarded the rear one does the most difference (I think the front did plenty by itself).. lower tie-downs and braces are just additional points for FF.. they'll make a good change on another ride, say an S2k, however..

sway bars are your best bet without sacrifice to ride quality from much-stiff spring rates..

Yeah I've learned a lot in just one day about this. I made this article regarding the lower rear tie bar because I couldn't find any with info on how much the tie bar, itself, affected cornering performance.

Thanks everyone.
