Hello all, seems like i have a residue in my muffler, around the tip mostly, it appears to be water, but the smell is almost oily, perhaps its just regular exhaust fume smell. But my question is if I do have oil blowby from the pistons, it would just go out the exhaust as smoke right? It shouldnt create a residue on the almost-last part of the exhaust muffler, am I correct? Any suggestions?

The catalytic conversion process does release water, so that could be the source of the moisture. If oil gets into the combustion chamber the oil is partially combusted and as a result it will carbonize. If the engine is burning oil there will generally a gritty black residue (not like the soot which is in any tailpipe, but coarser). Another way to check is to pull a spark plug and examine it for oil...
