Does anyone know what the requirement is for Honda engines (JDM) in octane level?
and anyone knows how much octane is in the fuel you can buy in Japan?

haha i think japan has like 100 octane......and if you mean your gonna run a jdm engine here, ur going to need to run the highest octane availible in your area..

I am asking this because a friend of mine here in Curacao, bought the Civic Type R 2002(compr ratio 11.5:1) from Arospeed (white civic with arospeed decal, from the US) and the engine broke, apparently of lean out of gas.

We can get here 92 octane Unleaded and 95 Octane Unleaded.
It happened using 95 octane fuel.
Since I bought a DC2 SIR Integra B18C, I wanted to know if 95 octane is ok for my car, before I blow it up!

hrmm i didnt know that the usdm and jdm motors mattered when it came to octane levels.. I know that the vtec motors like gsr and type r regardless of usdm or jdm should run the highest possible octane.. But i wouldnt think it would die out if you used 92, i mean if thats the highest we can get then thats the highest.. and about your friends car i dunt know but 92-95 should be good enough octane rating.. not unless rated otherwise by the OEM.

it matters wrt the ecu programs. if the program is basing the fuel tables on a certain octane rating, they can be a little more aggressive.

it's important to tell your programmer if you're running octane boost or higher than usual octane.
