The Neuspeed is the same non-stepped, non-sequentially paired, short primaries, long secondaries, 2.0" collector design of the other mass market bolt-on headers. It's coated a little better than the DC, but probably still prone to crack.

Neuspeed has discontinued the N2 header so you might be able to pick it up for cheap. Performace will be the same as a DC or Greddy.

Nice, I think I will pick it up!

When you say crack, do you mean the coating, or the whole thing?

Also, if the headers are 2" and the stock catback is 2", it doesn't make any sense to replace the stock catback, right?

I think you figured out why the average bolt-ons setups see at most 1-3hp from upgraded catback exhausts...

Not to say that's it's worthless, if you upgrade the full system with a 2.25" header and 2.36" exhaust stepping up that way you'll see better gains than if you connected the catback to a stock cat.

In an average bolt-ons LS that's usually the case. And adding bigger exhausts to a stock-sized header/cat that probably haven't neared the limits of their flow capacity ends up like putting a fire hose at the end of a garden hose.

Ok, let me make sure that I understand this. If I get a Neuspeed N2 header with a 2" connector, and a carsound cat also 2", is there any reason to have the piping after the cat to be any greater?

And are you saying that for a simple bolt on setup, it would be useful to have an exhaust system over 2"? Also, what size would be best with all bolt ons and aftermarket cams?

on a simmilar topic,

So Neuspeed N2, DC Sports 4-2-1, and 4-1, etc are all 2" collectors

But there are 2.5" collectors like JDM 4-1, Hytech, etc

Does anyone make 2.25" collectors? I havn't seen any companies that specify unless its 2.5"

Man this is an old thread... anyhow, no one makes a 2.25" collector header, right?

Mass produced 2" collectors are like mass porduced cat-backs that are 60mm. Unless otherwise noted, that seems to be the standard.
