no, since the parts are all interchangable.
I have a b17 dissassembled in my garage. the b17 is Basically a b16 (1st generation) with a slightly longer stroke and Higher deck height. The oil pump, pan, and bearings are all the same as the 90-93 B series engines. The head is basically the same as a b16, and the intake manifold is similar to a b16 as well. It DOES have oil squirters, and the rods are the same width as the B18a & B18b rods.
The Major Difference is the stroke and rod length. the pistons are 0cc displacement, which means they have no dome.
Aftermarket rods would probably be the most "difficult" to find, but anything is possible to make for the right $$$.
