Need help.
My teg will not start. I just replaced the battery today. It will sound like it is going to start but then it will make a noise similar to backfire. It just started happening yesterday. I jumped my neighbor on Saturday and since then it has acted up. I think this may have screwed something up. Do you think it is the dizzy?

Try putting it in third and then start, if you get it to start its your starter

Well, are you getting spark?

You can check by pulling one spark plug out, putting it back in the wire and grounding the threads on the chassis. Then have a friend crank it over and watch for a spark.

Its not your starter if it turns over.

check your fuses, and clean your grounds

finally got it going.. Evererything was getting power. the plugs ending up fouling out. Not sure if this was from the jump or what. Replaced them and now I am all set!!
