Hey all, I found myself a pretty good deal on a 5 speed 98 gs with just about every bolt on already done. So far I've found headers and a 3" exhaust with test pipe (no emissions testing needed in my county), coilovers with nice rims and a decent set of tires, cai, and a power steering delete. I also think it has a performance clutch in it but haven't pulled it apart to actually check but it takes more to press than any stock clutch I've ever used. When I got it one of the previous owners had cut out the factory wiring harness for the radio, it had a bad crack in the windshield, a broken exterior driver door handle, the driver side door would occasionally stick, and the high beams didn't work.

Since buying her I've replaced the windshield, lubed the drivers door latch (fixed sticking issues), installed a reverse wiring harness for the stereo along with a backup camera GPS antenna and wifi antenna for the android head unit I have to install. I am waiting to actually mount the head unit until I get the viper alarm I purchased installed. I used a test probe to check the high beam harnesses and they are getting power, and noticed the passenger bulb was burnt out and the driver side bulb housing was missing so I ordered a set of projector headlights I plan on installing when I am mounting the siren for the alarm. I've also done a few small maintenance things (fluids, plugs, wires, hatch struts, had the worn key recut from the vin, etc) and picked up a new exterior handle from a yard.

When I took off the driver's door panel to replace the door handle most of the plastic on the inside of the panel was shattered, the entire top lip was in the bottom of the door and the was a hole in the middle of the arm rest. I've got the door handle swapped but decided I think I am going to try to rebuild the panel I have instead of spending 100$ on a replacement and do something custom when I upholster it again (actually taking photos to document the process so I can do a write up if all goes well).

My next 2 planned mod are changing the cheap coilovers to a koni yellow GC setup with the extended tophats and getting hondata and a 91 octane tune.

If you've made it this far thank you and if you have any recommendations or a way I can do something better please let me know, I'm teaching myself and a year ago all I knew about cars was 4 banger v6 and v8 lol.

You should also check the door hinge for play that could be your real problem with it sticking. I really hate all the kits for a single din radio in our cars so I made my own. I reused the factory pocket and this also allows the aftermarket radio to sit back further in the dash just as the factory did. Installing an alarm isn't that bad. I've installed hundreds of them on my 94 I had added remote trunk release and window roll up.

I'd also like to recommend h&r sport springs for daily driving. They are a nice drop and ride is comfortable. Just swapped my old worn out blox struts for some brand new tokico blues that I got a great deal on I put ext. Top hats on the front have to go back and put them on the back later. I also used the inexpensive dust boots made for 4x4 trucks since my dust boots weren't present when I bought my car.
