my muffler recently broke off my piping, and im about to get it welded soon. when the muffler broke off some of the honeycomb broke off with it.

the question is can i clean it up and weld it without any problems with performance? its only for quieting the sound a bit isnt it?

usually they break off because of rust and can not be welded back on. you are going to have to purchase a new muffler.

if your muffler broke off...maybe you should invest in an exhaust system instead of investing money to repair a POS one...if you don't have the funds i understand but it would save you money in the end...but as far as the honeycomb...thats just sound deadining...its what "muffles" your exhaust...correct me if i'm wrong

What do you mean by honeycomb? Is your muffler a glasspack? We generally use the term honeycomb to refer to the catalyst brick in a cat converter.
