Its a "dummy light" that comes on at normal intervals to say it is time for an oil change or whatever....

This Article will show you how to turn it off

The light is just telling you that its time for any routine maintaince thing...no big deal.
That light will flash as a reminder that somthing has to be done.
Look at the article on how to shut it off.
If its the check engine light however then that may be somthing to worry about.

10 months/3 times is 3.3333 every oil change 3 month so thats why you have to do it about every 3 months. When they do the oil change they should push that button for you. But its not biggie

My car does the same thing. Every time i turn on the car the light flashes. I am going to have that checked though. I am not gonna be taking any chances. If i were you i would just have it checked just in case.

i think its kinda funny how that worrys people, the light you should be watching out for is that check engine light.
exactly what he says...

the "Maint Required Light" is nothing but a reminder.. and if you have your oil changed somewhere other than a Honda/Acura dealer, chances are really high that they do not reset the light..

if you go get it checked out, you are wasting your money

when i first got my car, that light came on... i let it do the 10 blink thing (which means "preventive maintenece" or something along those lines).. then eventually it turned into a constant light being on...

of course i was in a panic and went to the dealer i bought it from (hey, i was new to Integra back then), and i got a grin and a 5 second demonstration on how to turn off this "idiot light" as the service guy calls it.. he said he has that situation at least 5-10 times a day.....

you may not realize it but that light makes the dealer lots and lots of money. I swear every other time i get in a car at my dealer to get its info, the maintance light required light is on, and blinking. Kinda simple idea but its making service alot of money. We love idiot lights at Honda.

Hey guys, here is how to turn it off. Get in your car. Hold the switch on the gauge cluster and then insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the "on" position. Keep holding with the key in for around 10 to 20 seconds and the light will go away. But, the light will come back after around 3,000 miles or so.

This is a maintenance light like everyone is saying. This method works with all Honda's.
