By replacing it with a GSR ECU. I know it's a longshot heh heh. The non-VTEC ECU isn't mapped correctly for VTEC motors anyway.quiksilver on Aug/14/02 said:how else can you activate the vtec with an RS obdI ecu?
exactly, you might want to suggest to your friend that he gets ahold of somebody that knows what they are doing. No offense but it's pretty obvious he doesn't know what hes doing and the engine wont be very good or last that long. again no offenseSurferX on Aug/14/02 said:Quote: quiksilver on Aug/14/02how else can you activate the vtec with an RS obdI ecu? Sorry. I'm sure it could be easily done, but it makes no sense to do it. Tell him to get a VTEC controller if he doesn't want to get a new ECU.quiksilver on Aug/14/02 said:ok. I understand what you have all said. before I even posted I told him just to buy a used gsr ecu or even reprogram his OBDI ecu, but he insists on the toggle switch. ignoring that its a stupid idea, can yall still tell me how it would be wired?
so why don't you tell us the 5 things that activate the vtec solenoid, since you seem to know more than he does....AntiriceInteg on Aug/15/02 said:vtec toggle switch ha ha ha ha
I swear you people think vtec is like NOS or something

I would say it as if you don't have the money to buy the correct ECU, then you don't have the money to buy a new engine after your LS/VTEC project blows up in your face because of trying to take money-saving shortcuts.SpoonVtec on Aug/15/02 said:if you have no moey to buy a new ecu get your ecu reprogramed with a vtec program,or get apex'i vafc that would help you too.
