finally i gave in and got myself an aem cai. this is not really "performance" oriented. i've had it for like a week now. i was expecting more of a "whistling" sound. i do hear the whistle - but only when the throttle is at a certain position. (maybe 30-40% open?) at WOT, it just SCREAMS! is it supposed to do that? i feel like such an idiot asking this question, but i just want to make sure that it is indeed what's supposed to happen. thanks!

lol... i love it! i especially like the fact that it's as quiet as stock when you're not flooring. i still have the stock exhaust system - exhaust manifold, cat, and exhaust and that's why i just didn't expect it to scream so loud.

thats good...it is nice to see someone do the intake first. Lots of people do the exhaust first and never apriciate the intake sound.

I just changed my short ram to the cold air, and love it. Its alot quieter even at WOT, but it feels alot more powerful than the short ram i had.

actually, i did the suspension first like everyone should... spring/shock combo, then an itr rear sway bar. now i just need to save up some money for some stickier rubbers and my suspension will be all set. ($400)

then i'll be upgrading my exhaust system. a dc sports header, a car sound cat, and a cat-back exhaust. (~$1200)

need money. gotta keep working...

I'm just going to kind of bum off this thread, but i put my intake in a few weeks ago along with a skunk2 IM, and a spoon TB. Mine whistles extremely loud at certain throttle positions. The sound is coming from up around the TB itself and a guy i know said it might be a bad seal between the TB and IM but there are no signs of a vacuum leak like surging or anything. Is this anything to worry about?

You switched to a single stage runner IM....

That may be why, whistling is not bad if nothing else negative is there.

I figured it had something to do with that so thats why i wasn't really worrying about, but my friends itr doesn't whistle at all really so it just was sort of sitting in the back of my mind. Thanks for the reassurance
