This seems a little rediculous. I thought that tint was a secnd offense violation (like not wearing you seatbelt) but I guess not. I'm fighting it regardless. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know if this will affect my insurance?

i'm not sure if it'll affect your insurance but it is not a second offense. You can be pulled over just for tint. What town/city where you in?

ya 1 of my buddy got pulled over for having his tint too dark. the officer kindly explained the law, 35% in the front and the reason is because they need to see who's driving. he got lucky and just got a warning. his tint was DARK man.

Good Luck with the ticket !!!!!

yea im 20% all the way around except the back window. i got pulled over in Berkley which is a small town where the cops have nothing better to do then write tickets to yound kids. im just gunna take the tint off before the court date and hopefully ill get out of it.

i love how a ticket for my loud exhaust was only $30 bucks and tint is $250 lol doesnt make sense but what ever

I wanted to put 20% all around on my car, but it just seems like asking for trouble. I got pulled over by a statey sitting on the side of the road who pulled over a civic. He told me he's pulling me over for after-market non AMBER signal lights ! I was like are you serious since when ?! He said that has always been like that. Some bull **** that was.

yea i think i just might put the 35% in the front and keep the 20% in the back. Do u think when i go to court i will have to bring pictures of the fixed tint?

The best thing you can do is fix the tint and just say that you did not know the limit. If you try and bullshit the judge and officer will know.

If you lie in court you will fall flat on your face and look like a dick in front of the judge. You gotta remember these cops go in front of these judges all the time and they have a working relationship, YOU DoNT.

If you change the tint to what is legal you will show that you are willing to work with them in fixing the situation and not trying to make things harder on yourself.

yes it would! just show up to the hearing just act like you didn't know a damn thing. and keep showing some ignorance to the law keep claiming you didn't know. act like your sorry act a bit worried so they go easy on you. just dont show up like some punk or some hood dress casual, any evidence you have can work for you and tell them you bought the car like that i'm so sorry i'm in college idk how i can pay this off. and say something like i took it off if i knew it dont belong to the car i would have taken it off earier I took it off i'm sorry this will never happen again. feed them bs and your good

If anyone if still wondering about tints laws for mass, should go check out this website Tint laws
wow ok, sorry to bump this pretty thread but i came across this page now and as i checked the law info, i have to update this, in case anyone would search for relevant info about tint laws, because that site above is quite out-dated.. hasn´t been updated for years though there have been some changes (e.g. SC limit is more strict now, 27% and not 20%, etc.) so better to check some more up-to-date source, e.g. here // and enjoy the ride!:driving:.)
