Hey i have always had this idea for a cool in dash tv idea for an integra. I'm not really big on stuff like tv's and lots of sound in cars but this idea would look cool (i think)

My idea is to put an independant flip-up tv moitor in the dash just above the centre vents. In the dash there seems to be a few inches of clearance between the dash and the air suply conduits. Heres a pic i drew. Sorry for teh crappy photshopping :p

I think the idea is unique. havent seen it anywhere else and i couldn't find any mention of it in the forums when i searched. It would be nice because you would still be able to have access to all your controlls and have cup holders still :p

RLMAO, you willing to cut that thing open? Looks good IFF done CORRECTLY. But cutting that half board-like half foam-like meterial... the cut edge will be fugly. I wonder how you can patch it to look good. Very nice idea, tough job. It might work if you have some laser cutting tool.

edit: it might be more doable for g2, since we have a rectangular hump at that spot already, g2 can probably mold a base with it, drill a hole for wire and go from there, but g3... i dunno.

well a trim would go around the outside probably and make it looks a little nicer. Obviously i wouldn;t do it myself since i would be to afraid of messing up my beatiful car D:

I think it is a good Idea, Def something to keep in mind, I am actually looking into putting mine on the passenger side between the Air Bag and Glove box, There was this annoying somewhat of a dent in my dash in the area I am thinking of putting my Screen, so I figured what the hell i'll try it if I dont like it I will get a new one anyway

How about this, find a g2, mold that base from the "hump", then use fibreglass to create that smooth edge and base of that gen2 "hump". Now you have a model to play with and mount the TV on it. then you just have to cut a hole as big as that fibreglass base and snap that thing on the dash.

Looks good, I like the idea and agree that if you fiberglassed a trim to hide the cut it would look real good.

I installed my black dash from a tan interior. I had the same idea but right underthat section you have the plastic vents. No clearance for the lcd. That's my opinion.

sorry to burst your bubble but that's not an original idea. my girls RX-8 has that except that it's not a regular TV, it's a navigation system. It pops out of the dash and it is so freaking hot. I think it would be cool on an Integra but alas the genious engineers in Japan have already done that.

I went to a good audio specialist here in cali and they told me that it would not be possible to do because of the stuff the dashboard is made out of plus it would be ugly because the monitor wouldnt look flushed on the board and if they tried to make it look flushed it would interfer with the vents
