Hypocritical Car-Mod-Attitude

I pull up next to this slammed black civic. I thought it looked pretty cool. Had good looking rims and tires and a nice body kit. only thing I didn't like was the 4" tail pipe. My wife's in the car with me and we're like checking out his ride. He doesn't notice us until the light turns green and I'm paralleling him on the roll. He revs his engine and I smile thinking ok he may want to race. Then he says something but I can't hear cause his stereo is thumpn. We get to the next light and we both turn our stereos down. "Say again?" I ask him. And he says "You gotta a f**kn' problem?!!"
Sheesh! "Nah man, I was just checkn out your ride." I look at him like jeez your an a$$hole. He looks away for a sec then looks back like he wants to kill me and starts reving his engine hard. We both try taking off but there's too much traffic. I feel I could taken him with my stock engine cause his engine was reving pretty high but it seemed to be working at making loud noise from the tail pipe instead of turning his wheels. He gets in a left turn only lane at the next light. Whatever. I guess he thought I was laughing at him or something when I was really just diggin' his ride. My car has custom wheels/tires and is lowered too, ya know (although nowhere near slammed as his) Some people need to chill out. If someone goes thtough the trouble to modify the exterior of his car for looks, why would he get all offended when someone else checks it out. Makes no sense.

man I said "nice car" to a guy in a decked out supra once and he just shook his head like he was the chit
oh well. sounds like he's pretty high strung. maybe he'll die of a heart attack.
what a dick.. hope his bad attitude gets his ass in trouble one day.. ha ha
I don't check other people cars out cause it makes me feel bad bout the way mine looks. even though mine is clean it just don't have rims or lowering or anything for looks yet.
people in supras all seem to be dicks.. same with cobras and vettes.. whats with small man syndrome these days?
Civics get all sensitive when we look at them because they know our cars are so much better... Think of it like a vette looking at a camaro... Kinda like penis envy, you know?
The exact same thing happened to my friend, except he was looking at a Teg...the guy flipped out when he said he liked his car.
U know i wish that one day this guy finds someone worst than himself so that they destroy his car. Then he'll think twice about what he's going to say.
I just hate ppl like that.
Sadly, there are negative people out there....
unfortunately, these are the aspects of the "scene" that I hate. add thieves to that and you can see why it's better just to hang out and chill with friends.

it's funny, those guys that think they are hot sh*t end up being the first to be eliminated or the slowest in the races...because they think they know it all and that no-one else can offer them any info they can use....they lose that attitude pretty fast...
Yeah, it's too bad people have to act that way.
i personally love all compliments, but i never like to tell strangers what i have in my car, it is always "stock" when i describe it.
Cincinnatus, i just noticed that you live in st.paul. Thats where my friend was heading when the same thing happened to him....it sounds like it might be the same guy. He said almost the exact same thing to my friend that he did to you. I just talked to my friend and he said the guy who flipped out on him was driving a black civic too.
i love getting compliments on my car. it lets me know that i'm doing something right. i don't like all that flashy stuff. just plain jane, but make it look better than the factory did. so compliments are always good for me.

my brother drove my car one time to pick up his gf and he said a guy in a viper gave him a thumbs up for MY car.

Very interesting...
I was in Edina going North on France Ave. from 494. We were headed towards SouthDale mall. The dude was a tall skinny white guy with short hair (almost spiked). He had his seat waay back and one hand resting at 12:00 on the steering wheel like he was a gangsta. The funny thing about him was that he was wearing a camoflage jacket - but it was a warm day that day (Saturday, 08/10/02). Wierdo.
It's truly pathetic when people react that way to a compliment, I am always happy to let anyone know anything about my car; but I have never had anyone react that way to me, I usually just look at someone and give them a thumbs up on the car and that's it...
i hate **** like that. think they are all that because they have a tight ride. pisses me off
