Figured I'd show how I did mine :)

This install is for the NON-SRS ITR Steering Wheel
after people see how easy it is, the market for ITR wheels will be scarce

INTRO: I am a steering wheel *****, and out of every single steering wheel I have ever owned, the JDM ITR NON SRS Wheel is by far the most comfortable of the bunch. I did have a $300 personal steering wheel at one point and even that doesn't compare to the OEM MOMO... So I purchased one couple years ago which I then sold... WELL... I always loved it, and kept reading that a quick release cannot be installed, I always wondered why not... I mean it is just a deep dish steering wheel... Well I already have an NRG Slim Hub, an NRG v2.5 Quick Release and an NRG Hub Lock... SO DETERMINATION OVER HEARSAY...

Step One THE SHOPPING LIST

Purchase the NON SRS Wheel
eBay your self a "jdm" non SRS itr steering wheel
some good searches are as follows
integra momo steering wheel
dc2 momo steering wheel
honda type r steering wheel
YOU GET THE IDEA
Expect to pay anywhere from $100 (for a beat up one) to $200 (for a minty one)

Purchase a Quick Release
I recommend NRG v2.5 and v3 because they feature paddles for easy removal, the next best thing is the NRG "slim version" quick release but it will be very hard to hit the release button, but it puts the turn and wiper arms in perfect distance (see pictures later of what I am talking about)

Note: This is where you have to be selective as to how you want your setup to function. The ITR steering wheel is essentially is an aftermarket deep dish steering wheel with a MOMO hub attached, and a nice horn cover. There are a few options how to mount your wheel...

A) Momo Hub -> Quick Release of your choice -> Momo ITR Wheel
B) Boss Hub -> Quick Release of your choice -> Momo ITR Wheel
C) Sparco Hub -> Quick Release of your choice -> Momo ITR Wheel
D) NRG Slim Hub -> Quick Release of your choice -> Momo ITR Wheel

I highly recommend using the NRG Slim Hub so that you can use a standard sized NRG Quick Release and you can then install an NRG Hub Lock. But if you choose option A or B or C, or already have ABC you will need either an NRG slim quick release or an eBay one, if you use a standard sized quick release you will have your wheel mounted super close to you, "rally style", although comfy for activities such as auto x it is impractical for daily driving because you will have to reach back to use your turn signal/lights/wipers.

I kept things ideal and went with option C so I could use the NRG Hub Lock
NRG Slim Hub -> NRG v2.5 Quick Release -> Momo ITR Wheel

Step Two REMOVAL OF OEM SRS WHEEL

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING MAKE SURE YOUR STEERING WHEEL IS POINTED STRAIGHT
Everyone always says to unplug the battery to prevent accidental airbag deployment. Quick word of advice, if you are taking off the driver airbag it is a great time to delete SRS in total. The brain is behind the radio, unplug it and remove every yellow cable you see, as well as impact sensors and the brain, you will save quite a few lbs if you also just have the passenger airbag cover empty with no Airbag inside

Step Three TYPE R WHEEL DISH MODIFICATION PART I

Since I recommend you use an aftermarket hub rather than modifying the hub that comes with the wheel I have included instructions on how to modify the wheel to fit a standard MOMO/NRG Wheel bolt pattern

Keep in mind that NRG has a dual bolt pattern, and since you will be running an NRG quick release you have no worries. I do not know if the eBay quick release features a dual bolt pattern, but since it is a direct NRG copy it probably does

First things first, unpack your nice like new steering wheel, smile

When you remove the horn cover you will see the following 4 studs, these are not the standard size (L Key Size: 1/8th) that the quick release and hub use, they are slightly larger (L Key Size: 3/16)

Once you removed the hub from the wheel you will have to remove the horn ground which is held on by 4 rivets... If you choose to keep the big horn ground wire watchemacallit keep it and reinstall later.. However it is not required

very welcomed I got tired of google'ing and could only find 1 person who did this and never posted how they did it... I will post updates tomorrow afternoon, sorry if this is borderline half assed but I figured a few guys would read, order their wheels and by the time I am done with the DIY their wheels would arrive...

PS. HOME DEPOT HERE I COME

Yes, tyvm. I want to do this too but I searched high and low and found nothing.
vvv your search ENDS HERE lol

Step Three TYPE R WHEEL DISH MODIFICATION PART II

Once the rivets are off you will notice that your momo steering wheel looks almost identical to an aftermarket deep dish steering wheel... Now on to modifying the dish to standard size...

Get out the drill and bits for the next step, you will have to modify the dish to bolt up to your NRG quick release... The easiest way to go about re-drilling the bolt pattern is to center your wheel with either another aftermarket steering wheel, or using a steering wheel spacer. I chose the first method since that is what I have at my disposal... Place one of the studs that came with your quick release on the top hole and center the other steering wheel with your ITR steering wheel, you should be able to eyeball it and get it perfect

Place your momo wheel on a flat surface face down, place your aftermarket steering wheel face up facing you

Once you have the wheel centered clamp the wheel together using clamps or vice grips, using a center punch tap the 4 holes on either side then use one of your smallest bits to drill pilot holes... Now that you have your 4 holes drilled go test fit before you widen your holes, note that the bottom hole remains UNUSED, you can attempt to force fit, but using 5 is more than enough, remember you just took 4 off... BUT remember once you go after the perfect 6 studs, you are screwed and can never go back to mounting this wheel to the hub it came with, in the end the hassle is not worth the effort

After you are certain and only after this you can then widen the holes, do so at your own risk of course and re-test fit before you move on to the next size... on to what your finished process should look like, course if nothing went wrong that is... Save the scrutiny about the holes being close to the four rivet locations, you will notice that running washers and tightening the studs there will never give any play, if you are anal, then use 1 flat washer and 1 crush washer... no antiseize or thredlock required

Now on to the final test fit... note that the NRG studs are 2mm longer than needed, solution: run 2 x 1mm thick washers, your test fit should look like this

Now test to make sure your quick release works (stop drooling)

Now that you made sure you quick release is working, re-install your big horn cover and you are DONEZOW

Sit back and observe the task you have just accomplished... If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions or props to this install, please reserve them for this thread, that way we can all benefit from the tips and tricks of this install, I am sure a bunch of us will be tackling this sooner than later...

FINAL NOTES
Pro's: You've got yourself what you've always wanted, oem wheel with a quick release, what more could you ever want than that. Here are my initial driving impressions; I am reminded why I love this wheel this much, it has a certain balance and grip that only a premium wheel will have. It makes your overall driving experience superb.

Cons: You will have to extend the wires to the horn button from the quick release to the back of the big horn button because the wires are just way too short. And secondly when using a standard sized quick release it will take some getting use to reaching back for the signal and wiper arm... I already had a deep dish steering wheel so I am already used to it... Oh yeah and I have not wired up my horn yet...

NOW... ON TO MY NEXT PROJECT

the only problem I would run into, is I dont have a old steering wheel to match up the holes with.
But now Im looking at quick release again, and my g/f hates me lol.

Cool diy hope to do this!
You can make. Stencil using the horn ring and your quick release
Can someone re-post the pictures if it is possible?

It would be really appreciate! Thank you
