A friend used 2x11.8 oz for the roof with sun roof (680 sq in - so net is 1106):

He was wondering how much is needed for the hood? Accounting for the sun roof, hood (2140 sq in) is twice as big. That means 4 cans - seems a lot?

OTH, some people say, hood might need a thick coat?

It's really as simple as, buy more than you need, return what's not used and unopened. Two (2) coats of clear is typically the norm.
