Well, I've just about had it with thhis car. If it's not one thing, it's another. I jumped in the car around 10am, rolled the windows down and went where I needed to go. Got home about 20 minutes later, park, go to roll the windows up, and the passenger window isn't working. The windows are power btw.

It doesn't work on the switches. I have to manually jump the window motor with 12v to get it to go up/down.

All fuses are good, under the dash and under the hood. The wiring is fine, it hasn't changed.

What could this be? Why isn't it working from either switch? All help is appreciated. I looked online and a window motor is $100, and a driver door switch assembly is $176 at the dealer, and I'm flat on my ass broke here.

The Helms manual has a power window troubleshooting chart, I forgot what page. You can find the manual online if you look hard enough, not sure if I am supposed to link to it.

Used motors and switches from a junkyard/part-out are cheap.

so only the passenger window doesn't work and the driver side does?

It is either the power window relay on the gray fusepanel if both windows are dead,

Or it is your power window control unit (inside driver door panel) is only your passenger window won't work.

there are plenty of people parting out tegs. try to isolate the problem, and just keep the windows closed until then, good luck

The drivers switch must be installed for the passenger side switch to work. The drivers switch may also have failed in the "raise window:" position, so the pass switch would be ineffective. If you hear a strange clicking coming from the passenger door while driving, then this is exactly your problem, as the motors thermal reset is clicking. and youll hear no action from the window trying to raise, since it is bound up already. Ive been through this myself. You need a new master drivers switch set, post a fs thread on this site and youll have one in a few days. I paid 40 for mine from a member.

I dissassembled and cleaned the drivers master switch and got a few more days life out of mine.

LOL, no, the child lock was not on. The window now works, so I'm stumped. I'm going to follow all the plugs and connections and use some dielectric grease on it.

the damn thing did it again last night.. Waited like 20 minutes and the window worked again. I have no idea what's going on.. I'm going to be looking for new switches.

one question.. Do all G3's have automatic driver windows? Like so you don't have to hold down the switch to roll it down? Any paint/markings on my master switch have been faded since I had the car, and my master switch is very loose back and forth.

they all have automatic rolldown, you pull the switch back like you would normally to roll down the window, then pull it a bit furter and it'll kindof click. if you let up then it will go down the rest of the way on its own.

No, it hasn't given me any problems lately, so I don't really know what was causing it.

Your window tracks are most likely dirty. Improving Power Window Travel in the Articles section.

My rear driver side window is making the occasional clicking sound when no one is operating - while driving the car - are you saying driver side switch is faulty? But all front and one rear door window is working fine?
