I noticed on some coilovers the helper spring is either on top or at the bottom of the main spring.

Does the spring rate of the helper spring determine where they go? Are there any benefits from having them in either location? Did anyone switch theirs from the original location? Did you noticed any difference?

The helper spring is only there to keep the main spring from dislodgeing from its mount under extreme suspension travel.
