i got that same chattering too when i open it. it also does it when you close it fully from the tilt position. i looked at it close the other day and wiggled it and you can see where the runners almost look worn out, i don't think there's anything i can do to fix mine besides get some new pieces.

Try an impact skrewdriver on the skrews. It's bassicly a skrewdriver that when you hit the handle with a hammer it turns the bit, pretty much any hardware store will have em.

(But dont go pounding on it too hard, dont want to damage you're roof lol)

The clearance is so tight and most allen keys are so tiny, that you can't get a good angle on it.

I was able to get mine out by removing the engine assembly, tiling the assemble on its side, and manually opening the unit just a few inches. If you are striping the head, make sure you are using the correct size, which is 5.5mm, if I'm not mistaken.

It's a real PIA. If you've already got another unit, just pop the glass with a hammer and make yourself some clearance.
