If this isn’t the right place, please move this post. (Sorry, first time poster) I’m looking for help and advice with my up and coming integra build.

A little backstory: I bought a 97 integra LS from a friend who didn’t have the time or resources to complete his build. This build came with an LS b18 with a totally built bottom end but the body was garbage.
Fast forward about 3 months and I run into a man that has a fully built and boosted (receipts equal 16k in work) true ITR with matching numbers. This car is totally pristine in every way except for one: he cracked a cylinder wall because he was not a Honda guy and drove the car without a proffessional tune (averaging a/f ratio of 7).
I’m curious as to what work and parts I would need to use the bottom end from my ILS and his totally built c5 head to have a working, reliable, and functional ITR.

I know I need:
-some form of an LSV kit
-ARP headstuds
-a proffessional tune

I’m really just looking for clarification on part numbers, general rule of thumbs for this type of swap(Any experience on costs of labor, need for machine-work, ect.), and guidelines I should follow to ensure this car will be the pinnacle of mechanical reliability. Any help is definitely appreciated.

This forum is a collaboration of decades of info. The same answers you seek can be found here. Using his head you will need everything on your list as well as a new head gasket. Slightly modified your new list should looks like this,

I know I need:
- LS-V kit
- ARP headstuds
- a professional tune ( via chipped ecu )
- dowel pins
- head gasket
- gsr timing belt
- gsr water pump
- injectors
- intake manifold
- fuel pump
- fuel pressure regulator

So if I’m buying the whole itr, all of those parts should be in my possession, correct? (Save the head gasket and lsv kit)

Sure you can skimp on parts and do whatever you want, but most of us have been here 10+ years and, If certain ones of us take the time to reply to your post, you should probably heed advice.

I think @JDMJNKY has a pretty solid list, seems apparent the last owner did what he wanted and now block is cracked.

Timing belt and water pump should be obvious if you are that far into the engine, replace it and be safe than sorry. ARP studs are a safe bet also. Have you been introduced to the triangle??

cheap and fast is not reliable
fast and reliable is not cheap
cheap and reliable is not fast

I would still do a tune from a chipped ECU and load a basemap for a LSV. This is not a new build spec or something that hasn't been done before in the almost 25 years since the first 3rd gen came out.

even after the website had an overhaul, most of the information is still here. Really want to educate yourself?, read anything that Michael Delany (ey)? has posted.

Goodluck. we love pictures. Do you plan to do the work yourself? Mark @ Honda Street Garage has built loads of B20 Vtecs. Good Youtube information there.
