i recently bought some amber leds to relplace the bulbs behind clear front bumper lenses on my G2 teg.

here's the problem. the passenger side led wont work.

through swiching things around and testing i've established that:

- the leds both work
- the plastic componets that hold the bulb work
- the relay swich is working
- there is only one fuse, controlling both L/R sides
- when filament bulbs are inserted, they light properly

so, whats the answer? could it be the wiring somewhere?

has anyone else had this problem?

i'd also like to hear from G2 members who've had no problems with the led bulb conversion. what brand are you using?

thanks for the help.

well, i've figured it out.

props to all the TI electrical experts that helped me with this *cough*.

for the record:

the 'd' in 'LED' stands for diode. a diode is a circuit element that only allows current to flow in one direction. in the right direction the diode behaves like a short circuit. in the wrong direction it acts as an open circuit. a filament bulb will work in either situation.

the wiring on my signal light was not properly done. the ground and power wires were hooked up backwards at a point when they were spliced in. for that reason the led wouldn't light.

i opened it up, switched it around... it's now working perfectly.
