I started my car tonight push down on clutch ..no sound ..then turn the car on , push clutch to go in reverse or in 1st either way each time I push down on the clutch there is this awful sound like rushing water through pipes although I bet somethin is hittin but that's the best way I can describe it ..any ideas ..Help is needed badly..also I can put it in gear though and the car does go in gear cept for the awful sound..

You think it would be safe to drive to a garage for repair???

should be yeah. i'd always drive slowly to a repair shop, unless their's crazy grinding noises or something, b/c paying a wrecker can get expensive.
