Yeah think of it this way. In the long run you'll pay more for car insurance and you can't take your car with you when you die.

basal skull fracture is the same method of death as when they used to hang people except in a race car your body is strapped down with your 5 point shoulder belts but your neck and head still travel at the speed of the car forward. if the car suddenly stops on a crash, the acceleration of the head and neck is still at the speed of the car while the body has come to a stop with the car and this would be the same as that of a hanging.

I need one of those for daily driving.

If you're going to consider one any time in the near future, save your money and get a helmet that will accept it.

Good to see somebody bring this up on our board, I actually watched the race live when Dale Earnhart Sr. died. Weeks after that this device was really emphasized in NASCAR.

agreed. one more thing on the "to get when i have more money" list.

i was watching the race also, when he hit it didnt look that bad but as soon as they got to his car you could tell somethin was seriously wrong.
