Goodness that mugen steering wheel is baller! seen them go for around $700-900
I don't understand? We spend that on suspension if not more, near that on cams if not more, just about that on a clean set of recaros, double that to build an engine, double and triple that for an engine swap.......it seems our way of life is baller. We all just pick and choose our battles.

Lol I had forgotten. Looks very minimal right?. The parts stacking for this car is looking pretty good so far! I've always liked the way those p1 splitters looked.
I always remembered saying I was going to get a pic, LOL. It was preventing me from dropping the head on, but yes sir, pretty minimal I think. I was just unsure if it was previous, or what was happening when I purchased it. Agreed p1 FTW.

It's been a short while since I've updated my thread. I did end up installing the head, I was going to install the cams as well but I ran out of assembly lube, and I forgot my billet cam seal at home. I hope to button that up this upcoming week. Work has me busy so the longblock rests covered up.

Somewhere along the time line I bought this header off a client who went FI. I've been tossing the idea around of rebuilding the B18c5 to JAP spec, if so it will come in handy. If I stray, I'll sell it and try something else.

Had a VC PC'd OE style for this temporary engine while it's still in pcs.

Due to the fact I am dealing with a non rolling shell, I've decided to DIY my 5 lug setup. Fresh new parts vs buying a used 5 lug just made sense to me. Knuckles an TAs coated in a fresh black.

To further endorse my monochrome "final vision" I have for the car, I took the donor subframe brace and had it PC'd Gunmetal.

Minor updates here. Bought some assembly lube as you can see. I ending up removing the blox B's, in favor from a custom stage 1 cam. It's a hair more aggressive than a CTR cam and "should" work better than the Blox B's with my C/R of 11.1. I'm not looking for any "power" with this setup. I more or less want it "balanced" to R-spec-ish.

Forgot to send rear spindle to PC lol - logged

I apologize for not being majorly active recently. I've been spending some much needed peaceful weeks with the family. I'm happy about this update. Gave the family a reason to take a road trip. I've waited for this bumper for quiet some time. I just want to say it was finally nice to meet Idris and Thank him so much for this Euro Integra bumper. 3 more major PCs and I will have the EXT. for the R down solid and according to my "end goal" vision.

I was also able to procure some more themed goods while I met up with Idris at ICB in AZ. Valve stems should be arriving any day now.

A late birthday present to myself also arrived a few days ago, I was going to sell them in hopes of finding the specs I really wanted but they are just to darn clean. If anyone has a lead on new authentic blue caps and stems please contact me.

My first set ever. Silver 1999 Edition Mugen MF10 16x7 +50 5x114.3

The holy grail of front bumpers! Awesome pick up on the wheels as well. What specs were you originally looking for? I'm really liking how this car is shaping up so far

I was originally looking for 15's, then 16x7 43, now I'd love to find them in 16x8 42. Thank You, the bumper I got for a steal. It's not 100% mint but I can't complain. The price point makes it worth it. Thanks for stopping in and peeping the updates.

Man I've missed this forum. For some reason I do like CI. I just wish they had a civic section. I don't want to clutter my threads. Anyway, Some updates I've lagged on due to low activity. Again, I've been working on my civic sedan "race car" LOL.

The bottom end for the b18c5 just received one more piece to the puzzle. A friend of mine, laughed at me for trying to stay OEM w/ this rebuild, so he gave me these "R" rods with ARP bolts. Next on the list of finds will be a GOOD crank.

Small update for the temporary heart. IM bead blasted and coated in silver to match the longblock, which is almost complete.

Thank You Matt at ICB for the Lug Nuts. Another Mugen good X'd off the list.

S|O to Kumar of Touge Academy for the plate.

Roughly 2 nights ago, I was speaking to a good friend about cars, long story short he asks me for the cars VIN#, and my email address; Moments later he send's me some 13 page PDF. I was ecstatic about the following images that showed up in that report. The best confirmation you can ever receive. The truth!!! :dancing: Unfortunately this is the best quality pic I could muster from what I was given, but I'm satisfied. Enjoy some images of what the R looked like once upon a time.

Making sure the parts I'd like to use for this build make it to the thread requires plenty ramen. #kNOwRAMEN #KnoWlife

8/25/16 thread edit from 4/15/16

Well it's been so long, I apologize. I was so use to using NWP where I could easily log my build(s). I lost my license in DEC. but I now have it back. I always have a forum itch, I love to log things, so here goes to hopping back in the saddle.

Since this post I've finished the engine and later sold it.

I also was at a point where I listed the shell for sale, but after I had some work done to it, I decided to keep it.

Painter pic

Had to go see it for myself

I later requested some undercoating to sprayed.

Lastly my sedan as of now

Bland - I just love all things black, so yellow was a hard pill for me to swallow. Even now I plan to leave the car to my son as he calls it his "bumble bee."

knowing the shell would need to be rolling soon, I had to get the 5 lug started. I ended up purchasing some bits from Stan, with used 32mm 5 lug on hand, I began commencing the refurb.

I'm also not the biggest fan of PY. Aside from the upkeep, black is my favorite. Silvers so much easier to keep looking clean haha

Glad to see you back! How could you even consider selling it with that killer stash of Mugen parts?!? lol. What are your plans for the motor if you sold the B18C?

Same her, Black is my favorite, I don't mind the upkeep at all. So originally I planned to paint the car black. When I thought of selling it, I decided it's best to freshen up the bay when I had the USDM front put back on it, so keeping it PY in the event of a sale won that battle. Downside? I chose to keep it LOL now I'm stuck with a PY.

Thanks Tech. The good thing about Mugen parts is they are interchangeable, I would have just saved them until I had found a black ITR. The engine will be a b18c5. I'll dive into that soon.

More suspension parts - Dug up all my hardware and suspension pcs. to be cleaned and refurbished. My wife claims I have OCD, I'm in denial, sometimes it pays to be organized.

Another update on all things tedious. I didn't enjoy this at all, lol but the beauty IMO is a reward. Despite some of the beauty seen here I don't think I could afford to buy all new goods, well overtime maybe but this would take even longer. Being a father of 3 my time is stretched thin as it is. But enjoy, some good ol fashioned DIY.

More parts to be cleaned

Parts all cleaned up - Next time I do this I will consult the help of a vibratory tumbler / electronic cleaner.

for any level car enthusiasts clean VS dirty bolts.

next phase would be the rejuvenation of these old parts - Time for some Paint

Thank you sir, yes I did. I would have liked to get them all re-done with zinc but time was against me, finding a local shop was not in the cards.

I love freshening up parts as you're doing, keep up the good work! How are you cleaning the bolts specifically? Soak of some kind?
